Giovanna Gattuso is an international vocalist, musician, teacher and author with a truly sophisticated and refined style which she attributes to her extended experience both in Europe and in the USA, experience that has allowed her the opportunity to experiment and share her style in a very natural way from opera and European lyrical music to the most emotional & difficult jazz compositions.
Giovanna has received two awards and three nominations including “Best Singer/Songwriter, and Best Album of the Year 2006 for her cd JUNGLE E MAREE" on VelvetBee Records, which she produced and composed both lyrics and music.
Giovanna earned her diploma at the Academy of the Arts in Italy. Her training includes perfecting her vocal skills, Gospel and Jazz styles, at Centro Jazz (Torino, Italy), with Ken Anderson at U.C.S.D. (San Diego, CA), and further advancing her vocal technique with Maestro Seth Riggs (Los Angeles, CA) and Bel Canto with the Maestra Aida Claretto Prestia (Italy).
Giovanna's eclectic variety of styles and her unique capacity to adjust her voice to different formats has given her the opportunity to collaborate with many of the most talented jazz and classical musicians and singers both here in America and in Europe.
Renowned Italian vocal coach, Giovanna holds classes & workshops in Italy & the USA teaching her personally developed vocal system, "The CROSSOVER SINGING METHOD", which combines 16 years of cosmopolitan experience teaching and coaching singers of all ages and backgrounds of style including jazz, pop, rock, classical. Giovanna is also trained in orchestra and choral conducting and direction. She is the author of the Crossover Singing Method, which is among the Top 5 on the Best Seller Italian list as Vocal/Singing Method.
Giovanna Gattuso is the founder of the Venice Voice Academy, located in Venice, CA. where she has been hosting and directing vocal workshops for the past 10 years where students experience 10 intensive days participating and learning from a variety of guest artist coaches, singers, musicians, actors and dancers.
Along with her teaching and performing, Giovanna is also in demand as a choral director and conductor working with choirs and orchestras including Ten Choir, Millennium Choir & Orchestra, Coro Gospel Associazione Musictus, Sunshine Gospel Choir, White Gospel Choir, Coro San Giacomo. She was called to prepare a children's choir and conduct their performance with the “Portale” for orchestra, along with international guest soloists which was presented in June 2013 to the Mayor of Los Angeles , Antonio Villaraigosa, during the official opening of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX, with producer, David Foster.
